Modern Field Archery is a sport of shooting arrows at targets which are set in the bush. 


Archery clubs associated with The Australian Bowhunters Association Ltd. (ABA) providing a structured coaching program to ensure archery is taught and practices in a correct and safe manner to enable people are enjoy and have fun within this sport for many years.


Most parts of Australia have ABA associated Archery Clubs, which are supported by local Branches. Branch A is the ABA subdivision for the Northern Territory and have currently two affiliated archery clubs:

About Archery

Archery is a shoot­ing sport and safe­ty is our high­est pri­or­i­ty. There­fore, con­duct­ing the sport on a ded­i­cat­ed archery shoot­ing range is man­dat­ed. 

Equipment
Field Archery

Field Archery involves shoot­ing arrows at tar­gets of either marked or unmarked vary­ing dis­tances, depen­dent on the shoot­ing dis­ci­pline.

Bowhunting

Bowhunt­ing is a sport of eth­i­cal­ly hunt­ing fer­al ani­mals with bows and arrows. The Aus­tralian Bowhunters Asso­ci­a­tion Inc. teach­es safe and eth­i­cal bowhunt­ing.

Australian Bowhunters Associations LTD. Northern Territory Branch A

Branch A is the gov­ern­ing body for all ABA asso­ci­at­ed archery clubs in the NT. Over­all, this provides:


  1. Stan­dard­ised coaching 
  2. Safe­ty train­ing and archery practice
  3. Lia­bil­i­ty insur­ance for all paid members
  4. Club, Branch and Nation­al com­pa­ra­ble shoot results (Grad­ing)
  5. ABA Nation­al or Branch com­pe­ti­tions to ensure like mind­ed archers all over Aus­tralia (and beyond) are able to meet up and hav­ing fun shoot­ing and exchang­ing knowl­edge and experiences.
